Husband wants to travel!
We've been raising and breeding alpacas since early 2000 and my husband has just retired from his law practice. After being tied down with trials, kids and animals, he now says it's time to go! We are not leaving the business, but we do want to cut way back on the number of animals we have on the farm so we can tour this beautiful country we live in.
Our animals are all healthy with nice fiber, with Snowmass and accoyo bloodlines. The majority are full Peruvian and mainly white and/or beige.
I'm flexible on prices and terms -- I am more interested in placing my animals on good farms and selling at lesser prices.
Stone Mist Alpacas is home to some of the finest alpacas in the Northwest area. We have lived in Sherwood for 40 plus years, and started Stone Mist Alpacas in late summer of 2000, building a "made for alpacas" barn and fencing approximately 6 acres of our land.
Our herd, which is comprised mostly of full Peruvians, began with one outstanding herdsire, PHA El Viento, and his first "love", Angelina, and has now grown to include other additional herdsires: Commander, who was the 2005 Reserve National Fawn Champion; Valiant, an American Zion son, and two younger males not quite ready for the "big time".
On the female side, we have several ribbon winning foundation females that include genetics from such top lines as Caligula, Hemingway, Royal Fawn, Spartacus, McGwire, Felix, Camilio and Tocto. It was our goal to purchase and breed only the finest Peruvian/Accoyo alpacas, aiming for beautiful conformation and exquisite fiber from healthy, personable animals. We planned on staying relatively small so we could enjoy each animal and know each one's special traits.
IOur farm is situated on 30 serene acres approximately 25 minutes south of Portland and within minutes from I-5 in the beautiful Willamette Valley. Please call and come visit -- we'd like to share our experiences in this fantastic industry!
